Tish’s Health & Herbs is a new business, established in October, 2008. 

The store can be found the little desert town of Borrego Springs in California, U.S.A.  It is located in the county of San Diego and enjoys all the magic of the Southern California deserts, without crowds.  Tish’s Health & Herbs is the only health food store for 50 miles and now boasts of an Annex (Pip's Place) which is the only health food store for dogs and cats for 50 miles!

Tish Wagoner is owner/proprietor of the store and notes that the store has evolved through the requests of the health-conscious people in the community.

It is a unique community which has a small summer population (possibly due to the over 100 degree temperatures!) but which receives a great influx of visitors and part time residents during the pleasant winter months.  The town is surrounded by almost 700,000 acres of California State Park lands which makes it a wonderful refuge for wildlife and lovers of the wide open spaces.  The town has no traffic lights but does admit to a roundabout in the town center.  There are numerous art galleries and retail outlets but the main reason for visiting is to experience the beauties of this desert area. 

Borrego Springs, in August of 2009, was also designated as an International Dark Sky community (the second in the world) and enjoys wondrous star gazing.

Tish has lived in the town for many years and is a recognized person.  Part of the recognition is through her enjoyment and performance in the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center where she has played a few great roles.  She also spent several years conducting hikes, walks and talks in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Part where she worked as an Interpretive Specialist.

She is a licensed Nutritional Consultant and holds a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology.  Tish’s Health & Herbs is a store wherein you can enter, chat, relax and confer.  It is Tish’s hope that all who pass through her doors become “Nuts about Nutrition!”
